Jobs and Careers in Marketing
Marketing is the most accepted career choice
for the graduates. They have always been attracted by the glamorous
image it promotes. As a marketing professional you get a chance
to attend events and meet interesting people.
However, a career in marketing isn’t as trendy and simple as it
depicts. It means working hard for long hours and putting in late nights. It
has a wide range of activities - right from market research, pricing and product
development to advertising and brand awareness. Here you’ll find yourself
responsible for one or more brands, and at times may also need to deal with
a high level of statistical and financial analysis.
A
marketing professional is in charge of exhibition co-ordination, brochure management, product management support and general office administration.
He works closely with production departments and sales managers. Marketing
demands
teamwork and there is no scope for loners. Apart from well-honed communication
and organisational skills, you’ll need to have good numerical skills
and ability to prioritise. |
