has many advantages such as no more getting caught in traffic,
no hassles of driving, start working at any time
and you can work with ease
on your sofa at home. But ask people who are actually working
from home and you will know that there are some pitfalls too.
So what are the advantages and disadvantages of working from

People
who work from home get can certainly achieve a good balance
between
their commitments. However most often they forget to
draw a line between the working time and the family time. Both
slots telescope into each other and things may go wrong. Majority
of the people may spend more time while working at home rather
than they would do at office. There is always something more
you can do before you go to bed. Surprisingly in spite of this
productivity
of people working from home is lesser than those who work from
office. Another thing that you will experience while working
at office is that when you leave your office and get back to
home you can leave your work related worries back in office and
make the most of your quality time with family members. You
can’t do this
while working at home. If you are alone at home then working
from home becomes dreadfully dull.
Working at home gives you less opportunity
to go out and meet people. Sometimes you need to talk to your
colleagues regarding work. You can talk to your friends, family
or spouse
about this. Usually they want you to discuss about something
else. Also, many people miss their chance of taking on an exciting
assignment
or even projects since they are less visible in the office.
If at all circumstances make it inevitable for you to work from
home then at least arrange for occasional meetings with your
employer. Physical meeting mean so much more than a phone call
or an Email.
Many
have started small business operations from home. The advantage
of operating from home comforts is that it not only saves on
overheads but can also spare you from paying lots of taxes.
You also don’t
have to travel unnecessarily. You can star off with your work
right away in the morning
and no there is no need to wear that formal suit at home. And
the
kitchen too is not far away incase you feel hungry. So also,
if you are blessed with children there is no need to spend
money on childcare.
Guest
and friends arriving unscheduled at your home can be a problem
for you. They hardly know that they are causing disturbance
to you. You still have to keep up with your dead
lines in spite of loosing precious time which at times can
be frustrating.
Sometimes
keeping a track or managing time becomes a daunting task for
many people. Since there is
no one at home to pressurize you to work, you may simply keep
postponing the task at hand.
So
if you really serious about working from home then discuss
about it in advance with your partner about
the new working
arrangements. Make your goal clear to them and organize yourself
by making a chart/ timetable and follow it strictly. Also,
try and accommodate your family and friends in your daily list
